A big thank you goes out to the wonderful work Vanessa and Debbie did as the founders of the Women's Business Cincinnati monthly publication & website.  The Women of Cincinnati are forever grateful!  Although  the hard copy publication will not continue, our hope is the website provide the same high caliber information, insights and opportunities for Cincinnati business women to connect.

Vanessa Freytag to Women's Fund


A longtime advocate for women's issues is the new executive director of the Women's Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Vanessa Freytag took over the job in July 2007.  Freytag has been volunteer chairwoman of the foundation's Women's Fund Leadership Council since 2001. Duties for the full-time position include working on strategies to improve the lives of women and girls, and growing the assets of the fund, according to a news release.

Freytag was senior vice president and national director of Bank One's Women's Initiative before leaving in 2000 to start a women-focused marketing firm, W-Insight Inc. Most recently, she has served as co-founder and co-publisher of Women's Business Cincinnati, a monthly newspaper. 

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation is a community foundation covering eight counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, that makes grants and provides leadership in the areas of arts and culture, community progress, education, the environment, health, and human services.

Debbie Dent Focused 100% on Willow
 
Debbie will dedicate herself 100% back into her business--Willow Creative Group, a marketing firm located in downtown Cincinnati in Over the Rhine.  Debbie is President of the firm and will be celebrating 20 years in business in September!

The Business Courier interviewed Debbie on June 20, 2008 and asked the question: 
What do you like about being located in Over-the-Rhine?

Debbie's answer really sums up her mission in life:  "The diverse people and opinions; ability to participate in the community and building renovation efforts; and focus on art and creativity.
